INTERIOR/EXTERIOR
ADA SIGNAGE PROPER CLEANING GUIDELINES:
To
remove typical dirt and grime, a common household dish washing detergent mixed
with water can be used safely. Apply with a clean soft cloth, remove with a
clean wet cloth and either dry or pat dry gently. Cotton clothes or soft
sponges may also be used. NEVER use brushes or other abrasive materials as they
can scratch or rupture the paint film.
To
remove oils and grease, a soft cloth dampened with a mild wax and grease removing
solvent can be used. There are many varieties of solvents available from
automotive paint supplies, but DX 330 from PPG and 45-330 from Mathews Paint
are two of the most popular and effective. Other strong industrial cleaners and
grease removing agents are not recommended as they can be very aggressive.

How to use
and care for magnetic vehicle signs:
Installation-
Make contact of
one edge of the sign to the vehicle surface in the desired location and then
let the adjacent part of the sign contact the vehicle surface until the entire
sign is held magnetically to the vehicle. If the sign is not in the desired
position, remove the sign and repeat the above steps. Do not try to straighten
the sign by pulling it when it is on the vehicle, it could scratch your vehicle
and or stretch the magnetic material. Avoid placing your sign over chrome trim
or surface protrusions of any kind. The temperature of the sign should be at
least 60 degrees F. during installation. The temperature of the vehicle surface
does not matter.
Removal-
Always remove
the sign by lifting from the center of the two opposite sides... never start at
the corners. This precaution will avoid bent corners and reduced adhesion.
Caution-
Magnetic signs
will not adhere to areas on your vehicle where plastic or lead body fillers
have been used. Use caution in applying vehicle signs to areas of your vehicle
that have been damaged and repaired in order to avoid loosing your magnetic
signs. New paint jobs take time to cure properly. We suggest you wait 60 days
before positioning a sign on a freshly painted car.
Maintenance-
Your signs
should be removed....once a week minimum. Wipe dry both the vehicle and the
back of the sign. Trapped moisture, dirt or chemicals may harm your vehicle
finish. Clean your sign with plain water and a mild detergent.
Storage-
To avoid cracking or
breaking, do not fold or crease. Store your magnetic sign laying flat.
